Creating a more diverse mix of directors on your board.
Creating a more diverse mix of directors on your board is paramount to both good governance and better business outcomes. While we’ve seen progress for women in the boardroom, diversity must happen across all intersections, and other minorities still have a long road ahead of them to achieve equal representation in the boardroom. Latinos make up only 3% of Fortune 1000 board seats—while comprising 18.5% of the U.S. population, according to a new report, Latino Representation on Fortune 1000 Boards, 2020 edition, sponsored by the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) and KPMG, LLP.
In partnership with The Alumni Society, a networking platform for Latinos who graduated from the country’s top universities, we’ve created a list of 9 exceptional Latino leaders who are actively working right now to improve company trajectories and do what they can to elevate their peers. Each individual has an established and successful track record of global business and are either experienced directors or board-ready executives, proving that our shared goal of fair, equal, and diverse representation in the board room is not a pipeline problem.
